- Perform all diagnostic x-rays as ordered by the treating provider using digital and non-digital imaging equipment in accordance with approved radiology techniques and clinic protocols.
- Position patients appropriately for diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Explain procedures to patients in a compassionate and professional manner.
- Practice ALARA radiation protection techniques.
- Process images, review for proper identification and quality control, and prepare images for physician and radiologist overreads.
- Maintain and clean x-ray equipment and x-ray rooms between patients to ensure operational readiness.
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, make minor repairs, and arrange for service as needed.
- Aid providers with prescribed patient treatments in accordance with approved standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Assist physicians and nursing staff with patient care as needed.
- Assist in triaging newly registered patients.
- Direct patients to examination rooms and set up rooms based on patient complaints.
- Greet and register patients; verify insurance, collect co-pays, and copy insurance cards.
- Complete required forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of imaging and clinical activity.
- Maintain cleanliness of patient waiting areas, exam rooms, and front office.
- Serve as Medical Receptionist and/or Medical Assistant as needed.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Meet Massachusetts state licensure requirements for Radiologic Technologists, including ARRT or NMTCB certification and compliance with up-to-date CEUs
- Basic understanding of digital X-ray services
- Familiarity with universal precautions, HIPAA, and OSHA regulations
- Team-oriented and adaptable; able to work independently as needed
